The Brugmansia, better known as the Angel’s Trumpet, is an impressive container plant that instantly adds a tropical atmosphere to the garden. They are known for their giant, pendulous flowers that release a lovely sweet fragrance, especially in the evening.

Care
The Brugmansia needs plenty of water daily in summer, and sometimes even twice a day, to prevent wilting. Because the plant grows very quickly, weekly fertilization with liquid plant food is essential for abundant flowering. Place the plant in a warm, sheltered spot in the sun or partial shade. The large leaves catch a lot of wind, so a wind-free location prevents damage to the branches. For overwintering, the plant can be cut back significantly to the first branches. Please note: The plant is highly toxic; always wear gloves when pruning.

Hardiness
The Brugmansia is not hardy. Bring the plant indoors as soon as the temperature drops below 5°C. A cool, frost-free spot between 5 and 10°C, such as a garage or cellar, is ideal. Give hardly any water in winter (just enough so the root ball doesn’t dry out completely) and stop feeding entirely.

Important warning: All parts of the Brugmansia are highly toxic if ingested. Keep the plant out of reach of children and pets.
