The Alstroemeria, or Peruvian Lily, is a stunning perennial that blooms all summer with exotic, trumpet-shaped flowers. It is a top choice for gardens and as a cut flower due to its incredible vase life.

Place the plant in a sunny to partially shaded spot with well-draining, fertile soil. Regular watering is key during the growing season, though the soil should never remain soggy. To encourage continuous blooming, pull spent stems firmly from the base instead of cutting them.

Most varieties are hardy down to -10°C (14°F). In colder climates or for young plants, applying a protective mulch layer in winter is recommended. Potted plants should be kept in a frost-free, cool location during winter.
