Origin

• Chambeyronia houailouensis (also known as the Houailou Red Leaf Palm) is a rare palm species endemic to New Caledonia.
• Found in moist forests on slopes, ravines, and alluvial plains, often on ultrabasic (serpentine) soil, alongside species such as Kentiopsis.

Care

• Light: Full sun for mature plants provides the best shape and color; young plants tolerate light shade.
• Soil: Well-drained, moist, loamy, or rich soil; also tolerates less fertile soils.
• Water: Moderate watering; enjoys moist conditions but dislikes wet feet.

• General: Very easy and adaptable in cultivation; grows slowly at first but becomes a striking, graceful palm with recurving leaves and colorful new shoots (red/orange).
