Aristolochia × kewensis – Exclusive tropical Dutchman’s pipe

The Aristolochia × kewensis is an impressive hybrid within the Dutchman’s pipe family. This rare climber combines dense foliage with a fascinating inflorescence. The flowers have a characteristic S-shaped structure with a round mouth heavily mottled with purple, brown, and yellow speckles. The deep green leaves provide a beautiful contrast.

As a vigorous climber, this plant naturally twines its stems around objects. It is therefore ideal for training up a support. Give it a bright, warm spot with high humidity for optimal growth.

• Location: Very bright to partial shade. Protect the plant from harsh, direct afternoon sun to prevent leaf scorch.
• Watering: Keep the soil consistently slightly moist. Ensure there are drainage holes in the bottom of the pot so excess water drains away immediately.
