The Citrus junos, better known as the Yuzu, is a unique and highly prized citrus tree from East Asia. This plant is famous for its exceptional fruits with an aromatic flavor that sits somewhere between lemon, mandarin, and grapefruit. It is a must-have for any fan of gourmet cooking.
Care
Place the Yuzu in a sunny and sheltered location. During the growing season, the plant requires regular watering, but always ensure good drainage to prevent root rot. For healthy growth and a bountiful harvest, we recommend applying citrus fertilizer regularly during the spring and summer.
Hardiness
The Yuzu is the most cold-hardy citrus species available. When planted in the ground, a mature tree can withstand temperatures as low as -12°C. If kept in a pot, it is advisable to provide extra protection with fleece or move it to a sheltered spot during prolonged periods of severe frost.
